Advanced Section

After graduating from the Sailing School and completing the required training, students who wish to further develop their sailing skills can enroll in the Advanced Sailing courses. This section is designed to enhance participants’ existing abilities, providing specialized training and practical experience in competitive conditions and real-world challenges.

Advanced Training: A comprehensive program covering all critical aspects of competitive sailing.

Position Mastery: Full familiarization with all positions on the boat, ensuring seamless teamwork and flexibility.

Spinnaker Expertise: Specialized training in spinnaker handling for maximum downwind performance.

Docking & Trimming Techniques: Precision docking and sail trimming techniques to optimize speed and stability.

Expert Coaching: Guided by the experienced coach Mr. Christoforos Gritzelakis, renowned for preparing athletes for success.

    The advanced section  focuses on developing the knowledge and experience of students, preparing them to face more demanding situations and participate in sailing races. This  program combines intensive practical training aimed at equipping students with advanced navigation and competitive sailing skills.

    •Full Familiarization with all positions on the Boat:
    Understand the role of each position on the boat in-depth and practice managing them. Whether you are at the helm or trimming the sails, you will learn to perform your role with precision, ensuring seamless teamwork. This flexibility allows you to respond effectively to any racing situation, adapting your strategy to meet the demands of the moment.
    •Specialization in Spinnaker Handling:
    The spinnaker is the sail that can give you the speed and advantage you need when sailing downwind. Through our specialized training, you will learn to handle the spinnaker with expertise, fully leveraging its potential. From hoisting and balancing to proper placement and navigation, you will gain the control necessary to dramatically improve your performance.
    •Docking and Trimming Techniques:
    Safe docking is a crucial skill for any sailor, especially in racing conditions where time and precision are essential. You will learn the techniques for effective docking, avoiding any hazards, and optimizing your time. Additionally, sail trimming is vital for maximizing speed and stability on the boat. You will be trained to adjust the sails with precision, ensuring they are perfectly tuned to the changing wind and sea conditions.
