Successful “Docking” Seminar on 9-10 April, 2022

“Docking” seminar took place in Keramoti on 9-10 April and had great success. Sailors with and without experience, from Greece, Romania, and Bulgaria came to get specific knowledge and to practice in Docking. Participants started with a theoretical lecture and then had a unique opportunity to visit dry dock where the boats are being maintained during winter period, and to see the part of the boat that are usually hidden under water, such as keel, rudder and propeller – for a better understanding of mechanics and water dynamics and to practice on different types of boats in the sea. More specifically, monohulls with one and two rudders, catamarans, and motorboat/outboards. Docking technics, mooring with anchor, by side and with the stern in changing weather conditions – priceless tips and hints, mistakes parsing and practice, practice, practice – as docking is never the same thing. All students have got certificates of participation and took rich experience back with them.
