Kavala, North Aegean
Gateway to the Unexplored North

About Kavala
Kavala rises amphitheatrically from the sea, its castle and old aqueduct overlooking a historic harbor. The city blends neoclassical architecture, lively waterfront streets, and modern marina facilities, making it a practical base for exploring the northern Aegean.
From Kavala, sailors can reach Thassos in around two hours or set out toward more remote destinations such as Samothrace. The region offers largely untouched beaches, authentic fishing harbors, and reliable winds without the intensity of the Meltemi. Kavala combines history, modern infrastructure, and access to some of Greece’s most rewarding sailing waters.
